How you can see us

To claim a Medicare rebate for psychology sessions you need a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP.

If you would rather not go through a GP, or you have used your rebated sessions for the year, you can book and pay privately. No referral or treatment plan is required.

1. Email info@thefriendshipproject.com.au, or use the booking link on your preferred clinician's profile.
2. We send you a secure link to our intake and consent form, plus a link to book online.
3. You receive an email reminder the day before your appointment.
4. At your appointment time, click the link we sent to join the video call — or answer the phone for phone appointments.

TFP telehealth connects you with clinicians who treat a wide variety of issues, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, low self worth, and friendship or relationship stressors. Due to the nature of telehealth, we're unable to provide emergency services or care for issues requiring a higher level of support, such as psychosis or suicidal ideation. Please contact 000 for emergency care.

Clients can cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 48 business hours before their appointment. With less than 48 hours' notice, or a missed appointment, a fee equal to the bulk-bill rate applies- Medicare doesn't pay for unattended appointments, so this is payable out of pocket even with a Mental Health Treatment Plan. Use the link in your appointment confirmation email (subject line 'New Appointment') to cancel or reschedule online.
